Migrate from Cronitor

RealUptime's importer connects to Cronitor's own API with a key you create, reads your monitors, and shows a preview before anything is created. Uptime checks come across in one step; jobs and heartbeats are listed so you can recreate them as RealUptime heartbeats.

Already have a RealUptime account? Open Import from another service and paste a read-only Cronitor API key to bring your monitors across.

Rather send us the list? Email it to support@realuptime.io and we will import it within 48 hours.

Create a Cronitor API key

In Cronitor, open Settings, API and create a key. A read-only key is enough. RealUptime's importer sends it once, as the Basic auth username, to Cronitor's own GET https://cronitor.io/api/monitors, and reads back each monitor's name, type, URL and schedule. The key is used for that one read and is not saved anywhere.

Import the checks into RealUptime

On the dashboard's Import page, choose Cronitor and paste the key. You get a preview of every monitor before anything is created. Cronitor's uptime checks import directly, with the interval read from their schedule. Jobs, heartbeats and sites stay in the preview, flagged as not imported, so nothing silently disappears.

Recreate jobs as heartbeats

A Cronitor job or heartbeat is a ping your own code sends on a schedule. In RealUptime that is a heartbeat check: create one with the same schedule, then change the job to ping the heartbeat address RealUptime gives you instead of Cronitor's. The table below maps every Cronitor monitor type, and says where there is nothing to map to.

What comes with the account here is all four products, not just the checks you are importing. RealUptime Monitor is the uptime, heartbeat and server side, free for 10 monitors and 5 servers. RealUptime Status is the public page those checks feed. RealUptime Errors catches the application exceptions an uptime check cannot see, free for 10,000 events a month. RealUptime Outages is the free public tracker for the vendors you depend on, which needs no account at all. One signup provisions the free tier of each, with no card.
